The FireWorks Display Video

I've promise in my previous post that i would post a video of the Fireworks Display during the annual festival held between Canada and Detroit. Well, here it is now. I just want to share my happiness and excitement of such wonderful event. Lol! As you can recall, that's my first time to witness Fireworks Display in my entire life. And, i really love it. Oh! Pity me! Who cant resist looking the beautiful colors of the sky with different forms and shapes. Gosh! You would definitely love it too. Especially, the crowd yelling and enjoying the night. That was really amazing. I even see the beauty of huge buildings and blinking lights of the Country "Canada" at night time. The country i dream to visit one day. That dreams will be coming true and soon to happen. I still remember when i was still a kid. I've promise that someday i would able to see Canada. Now, it really does happening. I can even get there in just half an hour. Sorry guys! my happiness is just so shallow. Well, at least- it makes me feel better. Lol....

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college.
For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom
and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.
As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his
father had
purchased the car.


Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his
private study.
His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told
him how much he loved him.
He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.
Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and
found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name
embossed in gold.
Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said,

very old and thought perhaps he should go to him.

He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still

With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages.
His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt 7:11,

much more shall your Heavenly father which is in heaven, give to those
who ask Him?"
As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible.
It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car
he had desired.
On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words...

Almost Got Accident

We almost got an accident while heading home today. It was nice and smooth when i drove going to the restaurant. But, by the time we were about to go home from the fruit market- it started to become crazy. I doesn't know anymore where the direction going back home. Then, i started to get nervous especially my hubby never tells me where to go. Thankfully, i was able to regain the control of the wheel. If not, we would probably have an accident. Gosh! I feel I'm gonna have heart attack to what had happen. God is really good. He always keeps me away from danger. I'm thankful to him for our lives today. I know God wont leave me the times of trouble and panic.

Its Getting There

Guess what? I'm glad my hubby was calm of my driving lesson today. He told me, my driving skills was getting better now. Imagine, i was driving back and forth to the grocery store with not that much yell. I also used the freeway without asking any directions from him. Whoa.... But, he never know how fast my heart pumps. Lol... Of course, I'm still scared driving in a road especially merging the freeway. I never gets out without mumbling prayers if hubby lets me drive. Its my strength and guide wherever my destination. Hopefully, ill grow more confident behind the wheel. If God allows, maybe- i could take my road test next month. But for now, i keep my fingers crossed. Wish me luck guys....

Trash Halloween Costumes

Halloween is a holiday celebrated in several countries of the western world, most commonly in Ireland, the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and occasionally in parts of Australia. Halloween activities includes trick-or-treating, ghost tours, bonfires and of course costume parties wearing Halloween costumes. I still remember my very first Halloween celebration i witnessed here. I almost screamed when i opened the door. I was scared and my hands trembling. Who the hell will not scream seeing the kids wearing scary costumes. They were our neighbors knocking in front of our door yelling. My hubby never told me that its one of the traditions here in America. The kids will knock the door yelling "trick or treat" to solicit a gift of candy. I never experience such activities while i was still in the Philippines. Yeah, i saw it in television and movies. But, i never experience it in reality. No wonder my hubby allow me to open the door. It's because he wanted to make fun of me. To see how i react when i saw those kids. lol! He was laughing at me after it happened. I never talk to him until he treat me for an ice cream. lol! Anyway, i already know now and never be trick anymore. Fireworks Display

Last night, we were able to witness the fireworks display at Detroit downtown. It was held by the two countries U.S.A and Canada. This was my first experience to see in my naked eye a fireworks display. It was really great! whoa.... Amazing! At first, they show the flags of Canada and U.S.A. People were screaming from here and across the border w/c is the Canada. Though, i was pissed off with my hubby for refusing to stay near the river. But, its worth it while we're in the higher building. We could see it clearly and took pictures on it. I'll post that video later. lol! I just can't resist not to appreciate those wonderful fireworks exhibitions. Oh gosh, i love it.

Hundreds Feared Dead in Capsized Ship

Another sad story, i witnessed in the news today. The MV Princess of Stars passenger ferry, capsized Saturday during the typhoon that hit our very own country "Philippines". Two men who escaped the sinking ship, which was carrying more than 740 people, said hundreds may have died after being trapped in the vessel. So far, 10 people from the ferry were able to made it to the land. Six bodies including those of a man and women who have bound themselves together, have washed ashore, along with children's slippers and life jackets. Ohh gosh! this is terrible. Our fellow Kababayan's might not able to handle this anymore after many challenges that they experience for the past few months with higher prices of food and rice. Here again strike the big typhoon that caused floods and calamities. What we can do now is to pray that there will be large number of person to survive this calamity. I feel so much grief of what had happened. I know our prayers gives a lot of help to those who had suffered the calamity and their families. So guys, let pray together that our fellow kababayan's will endure the problems they encounter now. May God hear our prayers that there would be more survivors in this calamity. Timothy the turtoise (UK's oldest resident)

Did you know that Timothy the tortoise known to be the oldest Mediterranean spur tortoise. Imagine! Huh! I never believed when hubby first told me that Timothy tortoise lived for over 100 years. Until, i read an article about this tortoise that captures my attention. Timothy was first found on board a Portuguese vessel 1854. Timothy serves as a mascot on series of Navy vessels until 1892 ( she was ship's mascot of HMS Queen during the first bombardment of Sevastopol in Crimean War ( She was the last survivor of this war). Timothy was believed to be male but later discovered as female when the owner decided timothy should be mate. What captures my attention also was that this tortoise able to recognize people voices and would respond to you. Isn't that amazing? He was also active in summer. You could call him and he would come to you and say hello with strawberry. Cool huh.... Wish i got one of this amazing tortoise as my pet. lol.... Amazing kids

I was amaze how excellent this kids doing some stunts. I really wish my future children would be talented like them. Every time i saw kids who showed some talents while they are still young - i started to have goose bumps. lol.... It just great looking at them very small yet terrible.

Snowflake: the white Gorilla

Yesterday, i was wondering why my hubby called me while i was in front of computer. He told me about a white gorilla. I was curious, so i quickly went to him to inquire what he was talking about. He showed me the photo and was amazed because i never knew- there's a white gorilla. I only see black colored fur Gorillas before in the t.v. Whats makes me sad is that this albino gorilla was already dead last 2003 of skin cancer. For nearly 40 years snowflake was adored by people around the world. But, i feel regretful of losing one remarkable creatures who captured the heart around the world especially the residents of Barcelona Spain. Im Thankful To God Today

I'm very thankful that I was approved at our Interview today. God is really good. Our interview went well. Maybe just 10 minutes of chit chat with the interviewer. Then that's it... He just asked us about our relationship. If we are really living together in one house. If how did we met and if we meet each of our family members. He also asked me some questions we answered in the permanent residence application form. After that, he told us - i will receive my Greencard in a couple of weeks. He congratulated us and we say thank to him. At least, this is over now. Ill just wait for 2 years to apply again for 10 year permanent residency card. yahoo......... All I'll do for now is to constantly practice driving. So, I could passed my road test and start to find job. Its really hard to find job when you don't have drivers license. Not only the employers look for your driving record but you also need a car to used going to workplace. That's why i need to have my drivers license now. So, i could start building my life here in America. I could help my hubby with all the expenses. Well, i need to be optimistic for a positive results to happen. But, of course with all God's help. I will not succeed without his help. So, i just keep praying that all my wishes will be coming true. Chucks.....

My Wedding's Dream

I still remember my cousin's wedding- its really amazing. She got the whole Wedding event perfect. I really like their unique styles of Wedding Invitation too. Its like both of them were prince and princess in their wedding. Its really great! But even the modern theme they used in their Wedding. They still not forget the Filipino tradition we have where they dance to different individuals whether it be friends or part of the family. I sill recall the first time my hubby went to the Philippines. For many months of communicating through chat rooms and phone. At last, he visited me last September 4, 2007. Of course, i wont forget that date - its one of my memorable experiences in my life. lol... Who would expect the husband you have now will be the person you'll marry and spent the rest of your life. Chucks...
Anyway, i never thought he is the one for me. But, perhaps- its God's purpose. I really wish, he will be the one and only till I'm alive. God knows....

Today's Bible Reading

The Bible reading reminds me of all the trials i been through. In spite, all the difficulties in my life- i manage to trust God without any doubts. Though, there are times I'm worried. But, i still manage to be optimistic for whatever outcomes may happen. As what the bible says: Do not be afraid if you believe in God. Every time, fears bound in me - i carry bible to my side. Then, i feel secured with him and my angels. I accepted all the consequences and challenges because i know it's God's will. I never give up for all the problems. I am more stronger for whatever trials i might encounter in the future. I know that if you trust God and believed in him- Then, your in his good hands. I may not be perfect in his eyes and stumbled on my feet. But, i know God will forgive me because he is a merciful one. He never forsaken me the times i needed him most. He was there to help mold my life and strong. I'm very thankful for the trials he gave me because that helps me realize the value of life.

I Missed Lechon (roasted pig)

We Filipinos traditionally prepared lechon every time we celebrate special occasions like Christmas, new year, anniversaries and birthdays. It seems its already part of our culture to cook various Filipino foods for visitors and love ones. One dish that's presents in every occasions was lechon. Some cant afford to buy whole lechon. But, there are options- you can buy it by kilos in public markets or in restaurants. Lechon is already part of my life. My parents been selling lechon since i was a child. I even remember when i was still a little kid- i used to eat the tail of lechon almost everyday. No wonder I'm getting bigger when i was in high school. You just cant resist the yummy taste and crispy skin of roasted pig. It made me even eat more. ohhh I'm missing it now.... Wish i could purchase lechon here. But sad to say- i cant find lechon in our place. My friend told me if i know how to cook it. I told her its not an easy work to do. It takes a long process- i cant also kill a pig. lol....
