A millionaire kills himself

I’ve read one article about a millionaire guy who committed suicide. According to the article, he kills himself because of the pressures of dealing with the credit crunch and the current financial crisis haunted him. He threw himself into the path of a 100 mph express train at Taplow railway station, Berkshire. Imagine that? It’s very scary. I just can’t believe why he do that. What triggers him to commit suicide knowing that he had family? I don’t think it’s the right answer for his problem. I’ve heard a lot of suicide cases but it seems this one is ridiculous. I’m sure he can still find job if he wanted to. He’s been rich in his life so I think he got more advantage of getting job. I feel sorry for him and his family. Gosh! There are people out there who’ve suffered from not eating 3 times a day. But, they never kill themselves. It makes me sad. I hope God will forgive him for what he has done. I am praying that his family will be able to accept the heartaches and trials they been through right now.

Lost 2 lbs this week

Last week, I started making changes of my diet. I include vegetables and fruits in my diet. I started stashing desserts and junk foods. I also exercise for at least 45 minutes a day. It includes some dancing, taeboo and hip-hop. I made it sure that I drink enough water everyday. And, just today, I was very happy with the results. I lose 2 lbs in one week. I should weigh myself every week to know if I was in progress. Before, I manage to lose 15 lbs and I know I can make it again. I need to be more determine and consistent of this weight loss journey. I know in due time, I’ll get to my ideal weight. My target weight is 110lbs. I hope I’ll get it in 2 months. Wish me luck!

Craving for Biko

I was craving for a rice cake ( Biko) today. I’m very disappointed since I don’t know how to cook it. I bought all the ingredients last week yet I can’t figure out how to make it. Pity me! I’ll surely look for the recipe tomorrow. I can’t wait to eat rice cake again. It’s been a year since the time I tasted it. I might forget what’s the taste of it. lol! I still recall when I was in the Philippines- we used to buy different snacks (kakanin) at the Red Apple Restaurant. Fruits and Veggies

I’ve gained so much weight ever since I got here in U.S. I can’t stop eating crap especially if I’m alone. It has been our routine to dine out in a buffet every weekend. Both of us noticed a big difference of our body image. My husband used to have a nice abs but lately I’ve notice his belly gets bigger. Holy cow! I was a little bit worried since our respective family has a history of diabetes and high blood pressure. We don’t want to suffer the consequences. I need to find ways on how to prevent from acquiring these kinds of diseases. It’s not too late anyway. We still have enough time if we start some changes right away. It’s my promise to include fruits and vegetables in our diet. I’ll convince my husband to exercise with me in the basement. Maybe, we’ll exercise at least 4 times a week. I’m pretty sure we could lose 2 pounds every week. I know we’ll succeed of losing weight if we work out together. Consistency and discipline is the key for weight loss success. Celebrating 1st Anniversary

Yesterday, we celebrate our first anniversary. I’m so happy we’re still together in spite all the trials we’ve been through. I’m very thankful to God for everything. I’m also thankful for my husband who love and understands me. I can’t ask for more. All I’ve been praying to God that he will always guide and strengthen us for whatever trials we may encounter. So far, marriage life is so amazing. I wish we’d be together for the rest of our lives. God knows! I just keep on praying. Anyway, we went to Windsor Ontario for a date. We went to a nice restaurant. The food and place was great. My husband was amazed of their foods. That’s his first time to taste such a yummy food. And, the theme of the restaurant is like a country style. You’ll see the pictures below. Though, it’s a little expensive. Well, we have to indulge since it’s our 1st anniversary. At least, I saw what Canada looks like. I considered it my happiest moment. Faith of a child

I received an email from a friend this morning. Actually, it’s not about her whereabouts and own life. She sends me a story of a child who has a huge faith to God. I don’t know if this happened in real life. But, this story would probably capture your attentions. Perhaps, this wonderful story would give each one of us a big lesson in our own lives too. So don't forget to have your hanky ready with you while reading this story. I guess you’ll cry as crazy like me. lol!

Here’s the story:

Sally was only eight years old when she heard Mommy and Daddy talking about her little brother, Georgi. He was very sick and they had done everything they could afford to save his life. Only a very expensive surgery could help him now . . . and that was out of the financial question. She heard Daddy say it with a whispered desperation, "Only a miracle can save him now." Sally went to her bedroom and pulled her piggy bank from its hiding place in the closet.

She shook all the change out on the floor and counted it carefully. Three times. The total had to be exactly perfect. No chance here for mistakes. Tying the coins up in a cold-weather-kerchief, she slipped out of the apartment and made her way to the corner drug store.

She waited patiently for the pharmacist to give her attention. . . but he was too busy talking to another man to be bothered by an eight-year-old. Sally twisted her feet to make a scuffing noise. She cleared her throat. No good. Finally she took a quarter from its hiding place and banged it on the glass counter. That did it!

"And what do you want?" the pharmacist asked in an annoyed tone of voice.
"Well, I want to talk to you about my brother," Sally answered back in the same annoyed tone. "He's sick . . . and I want to buy a miracle."
"I beg your pardon," said the pharmacist.

"My Daddy says only a miracle can save him now . . . so how much does a miracle cost?"
"We don't sell miracles here, little girl. I can't help you."
"Listen, I have the money to pay for it. Just tell me how much it costs."
The well-dressed man stooped down and asked, "What kind of a miracle does you brother need?"

"I don't know," Sally answered. A tear started down her cheek. "I just know he's really sick and Mommy says he needs an operation. But my folks can't pay for it . . . so I have my money.
"How much do you have?" asked the well-dressed man.

"A dollar and eleven cents," Sally answered proudly. "And it's all the money I have in the world."
"Well, what a coincidence," smiled the well-dressed man. A dollar and eleven cents . . . the exact price of a miracle to save a little brother. He took her money in one hand and with the other hand he grasped her mitten and said "Take me to where you live. I want to see your brother and meet your parents."

That well-dressed man was Dr. Carlton Armstrong, renowned surgeon, specializing in solving Georgi's malady. The operation was completed without charge and it wasn't long until Georgi was home again and doing well. Mommy and Daddy were happily talking about the chain of events that had led them to this place.

"That surgery," Mommy whispered. "It's like a miracle. I wonder how much it would have cost?
Sally smiled to herself. She knew exactly how much a miracle cost... one dollar and eleven cents... plus the faith of a little child.

Stinky Durian

Last night, I asked my husband’s favor to open the durian fruit for me. I was laughing since he can’t stand the smell of the durian fruit. He told me that I’m weird eating those rotten and stinky fruit. Well, he can’t stop me for eating my favorite fruit. We’re going to have trouble if he throws it out. Funny me! I was craving for this fruit for a long time now. Luckily, I found it inside the Chinese store. I’m sure my diet will be ruined for eating the whole fruit. I don’t want to waste anything especially food. How I wish we were near my sister’s house. She would surely eat anything I offer. Gosh! I still recall when I was still in the Philippines. How's my driving?

I had my driving lesson yesterday. I was freaking nervous since it’s been many weeks that I haven’t drive. Luckily, my husband was so calm and considerate. I never get any yell at all. Miracle! Anyway, he told me that my driving skills were improving. But, I can’t take a road test until I master a parallel parking. Gosh! It’s very hard for me to park even in our parking lot. I was really worried since my driving permit will be expired soon. I need to have my own driver’s license as soon as possible. I don’t want to be stuck inside the house for another year. Funny me! That’s the reason why until now I don’t have work yet. My husband doesn’t allow me to work without a car. Besides, it’s not a good idea to take a bus in Detroit area. It’s very risky. My Rumblings

I just talked to my sister and mom today. I was very sad after we say good night. I can't describe my feeling. It's been over a year that we never see each other in person. And, I've missed them so badly. How I wish we were near with each other and I'll be assured that they were all safe and happy. Guys, I'm sorry if I keep on rumbling my feelings over my post. But, I just can't think of a way to express my emotions. I hope you'll understand that. I can't tell my husband of what I feel. I don't want him to worry about me. Sometimes, I'll asked God some silly questions. I know that I have no right to asked him any questions at all. But, it hurts me so bad and I can't do anything about it. I was disappointed of myself for not being so brave to drive. I want to slap myself to get awake and get moving. Something is preventing me to learn this driving thing. What a chicken! I'm so freaking scared to take a road test. Gosh! I wish i had a guts to do it right now. So, all this things will be over.

My dad and mom

I got an email from my best friend today. She sends me some pictures of her and my family. You probably asked me who were dancing in the picture. Well, that’s my mom and dad. This picture was taken during my niece first birthday party. Aren’t they looked so happy? Yeah, they enjoyed each other’s company. I’m proud to tell you that they’ve been together for almost 31 years. There were times that they almost get separated because of trials and temptations. But luckily, they were able to get through to it. Though, I’m not quite sure what future holds to both of them but one thing is for sure- they love each other. And, that’s the most important part of their marriage. That’s the reason they are still together until now. All I pray to God is to give them good health and happiness. God knows how much I missed my family especially both of you- dad and mom. I know that they can’t read this post I got today. But, at least I can express my feelings here. It’s really hard to be away from your family. Sometimes, it’s killing me. I really do wish that I can afford the expenses for back and forth ticket but sad to say I can’t. Well, all I can do for now is to call and chat them. Lol!
